Where to buy golf clubs in Kenya?
Get Authentic Golf Clubs in Kenya
TL;DR:
1. Get authentic golf clubs straight from the manufacturer, ship by air from the U.S
2. The best U.S. stores to import golf clubs from are PGA Superstore.com and secondswing.com.
3. You can also buy used golf clubs on eBay, but make sure you are not buying from a seller located in China.
As a golfer, I probably would not buy anything golf-related in Kenya, thinking that I'm buying authentic golfing products.
A few months ago, a group of us went for a weekend golfing outing at Nyeri Golf Club.
For some reason, I had forgotten my golf gloves, and I had to buy a golf glove inside the golf club. To my surprise, I paid 2,500 shillings for the worst golf glove I've ever had.
A friend of mine who accompanied me had some Titleist golf balls, but he wanted to trade them for my U.S.-bought Kirkland golf balls, normally found in Costco.
Kirkland golf balls are really good and among the cheapest you can ever find in the USA, so I wondered why he wanted to trade top-tier golf balls for Kirkland.
He told me he would rather use Kirkland golf balls because they are authentic rather than fake Titleist from China that does not perform anywhere near. The worst golf balls you can ever buy from the U.S.

What about golf clubs?
Golf clubs have a lot of technology behind them, and that determines how well you play and how good you feel when playing golf.
There are a lot of fake golf clubs in Kenya, so it is difficult to distinguish between fake and authentic golf clubs.
Golf clubs are expensive, and I would not take the risk of buying a potentially counterfeit golf set in Kenya. Just think about a golf glove that was fake.
Where to buy your golf clubs?
If you just want to buy golf clubs without the golf bag, they are very inexpensive to ship. Authentic sets depend on the manufacturer and make. For example, I use Cobra golf clubs. The latest Cobra Tour Irons are approximately $1,299 brand new.
It would cost me around $150 to have them shipped in Kenya by air, since golf irons come in a very small tube-like box.
If I wanted to go to second-market websites like SecondSwing.com or PGA Superstore, I probably would get the same refurbished golf clubs at approximately $800.
You still can find the same deals on Amazon or eBay. Just make sure you know exactly which clubs you want and the shaft, whether it's regular, flex, stiff, extra stiff, or senior shaft. You also need to know your shaft weight. It normally varies anywhere between 55 g and 130 g.
If you want to ship a whole set, including a golf bag, I would recommend you ship those by ocean.
A golf bag is bulky, and it would make the entire set more expensive to ship by air since it is billed based on volumetric weight.
Where should I buy my golf clubs in the U.S.?
1. Go to the specific brand store for the specific latest model. For example, if you want Titleist, you can go to tightlist.com. If you want Colorway, you can go to colorway.com. Alternatively, you can buy name-brand golf clubs from PGA Superstore.
If you decide to import used golf clubs from the US to Kenya, my favorites are secondswing.com and ebay.com. On eBay, be careful: sometimes you may end up with counterfeits from China. Make sure to check the location of the seller and filter your results to the USA only.
It is very unlikely to get counterfeit used golf clubs from the sources that I mentioned. Amazon is always a good bet because they rigorously vet their suppliers to make sure their customers are getting the best experience.
