US Warehouse Addresses

What It Is

When you create an account, you get a US shipping address at our warehouses, made unique by a warehouse code. Have items delivered there from US online stores, from Amazon to Walmart, and we forward them to Kenya by air freight or ocean cargo. If you signed up with a Kenyan phone number, the address carries your own name and warehouse code. If you signed up with a US phone number, it carries the name and code of the Kenya receiver you select. New shoppers usually start with our Amazon shopping walkthrough.

Your Warehouse Code

CRITICAL: The warehouse code tells us who the package is for!

Format

• Format: FirstInitial + LastInitial + 4 digits (usually the last four digits of the phone number)
• Example: John Smith, phone ending in 0101 → JS0101
• Every receiver in Kenya, and every customer with a Kenyan phone number, has their own code

Why It's Important

• Matches each package to the right person when it arrives at our warehouse
• Without it, packages can be delayed while we work out who they belong to
• Must appear in the name line, right after the name

How to Get Your Real Code

1. Create an account at kentexcargo.com with a one-time code sent to your phone or email, or with Google or Facebook
2. Complete your profile information
3. If you signed up with a US phone number, add at least one receiver in Kenya
4. Open "My US Warehouses" to see the code and the full address

Two Warehouse Locations

We operate two warehouses in the USA:

• Texas Warehouse - Our head office and the default for air shipments
• Delaware Warehouse - The default for ocean shipments

Delaware has no sales tax. Texas does: where sales tax applies to a purchase made through us, it is shown as its own line in the cart and at checkout. Each warehouse card on "My US Warehouses" also shows that warehouse's air and ocean minimum charges.

When Shopping Online

Step 1: Shop Any US Store

• Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Target, etc.
• Or any retailer that ships within the US
• Add items to cart as normal

Step 2: Checkout

• Go to shipping address
• Enter your warehouse address
• Include the warehouse code in the name!
• Use the street, suite line, city, state, ZIP and phone number shown on "My US Warehouses"

Step 3: Shipping Options

• Select standard ground shipping (cheapest)
• Or faster if you need it quickly at warehouse
• Don't pay for international shipping (you pay us separately)

Step 4: Complete Purchase

• Pay with your card
• Get order confirmation
• Create a pre-alert with the store's tracking number so we can match the package

Copy-Paste Your Address

From My US Warehouses

1. Go to "My US Warehouses"
2. Choose the shipping method (and, if you signed up with a US number, the receiver), then click "Copy All"
3. Paste in retailer's checkout
4. Check that the name, code and suite line pasted correctly

Save in Retailer Account

• Add as saved address
• Remember to include warehouse code
• Can reuse for future orders

Don't Ship From

• International sites (.co.uk, .de, etc.)
• Sites that won't ship to our state
• Sellers who refuse freight forwarders

Multiple Orders, Same Time

You can have multiple orders shipping to your warehouse simultaneously:

• Each tracked separately
• We receive and log all
• Combined into one consolidation only if you ask for it on your pre-alert (see below)
• Each package is invoiced once it has been weighed and measured

At Our US Warehouse

1. Package Receipt

• Courier delivers to our warehouse
• Staff scan the tracking number
• The warehouse code, and your pre-alert if you made one, match it to the right account
• It is logged in our system

2. Weighing and Measuring

• Weight and dimensions recorded
• Air is charged on chargeable weight in kilograms: the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight (L x W x H in inches / 306)
• Ocean is charged by volume in cubic feet (L x W x H in inches / 1728)
• The Air or Ocean choice from your pre-alert is used

3. Safety Checks

• Batteries, liquids and perfume are flagged
• Prohibited items are held, and you can follow the case under "Prohibited Cases" in your account

4. Invoicing

• The invoice is created once weight and dimensions are recorded
• It is sent by email and SMS with a payment link, and on WhatsApp if you have opted in
• Pay by M-Pesa or card
• Freight insurance is added when the declared value is over the insurance threshold

5. Notification

• You get a "Package Received" message by email and SMS, and in your account
• Follow it in "My Shipments" or "Track Shipment"
• If you have an unpaid invoice, newly arriving packages are held at the warehouse until it is paid, and we let you know

Consolidation

7-Day Window

• Ask for consolidation when you create your pre-alert
• The window starts when the first tracking number is added to the group
• It closes 7 calendar days later, or after 5 business days if that comes first
• Packages that arrive after it closes are not added

Where It Happens

• Packages are combined in Nairobi after they arrive, not at the US warehouse
• They are then ready for pickup or delivery together
• Customers with invoices more than 30 days overdue cannot start a consolidation

Good to Know

• Packages are not combined automatically: without a consolidation request, each one is invoiced on its own
• Air shipments depart every Wednesday (cut-off Monday)
• Ocean shipments depart in the last week of every month
• We hold packages for up to 30 days free. After 30 days, a $2/day storage fee applies

Tracking Your Packages

In Our System

• Sign in to your account
• "My Shipments" lists your packages and pre-alerts
• Status updates as the package moves from our US warehouse to Kenya
• Consolidation groups show the date their window closes

Original Tracking

• Use retailer's tracking to follow to our warehouse
• Once "Delivered" → check our system
• We take over from there
