Introducing Kentex Cargo Star Rewards – How Our New System Works Starting September 1st
How It All Started
On July 2026, we introduced rewards points where you earn three percent cashback on your shipment. This was a trial situation.
We wanted to see how that is going to work. And I'm happy to announce that a lot of people have taken advantage of our rewarder program. This works the same way credit card companies give you cashback on your expenditure up to a certain amount.
The New Star System – Effective September 1st
Starting September 1 2026, we are going to change how the rewarder system works. One, we are going to change it from a reward system into a star system where you earn stars based on your shipping history.
Let me give you an example. One star is equal to $10 earned at 2.5% cashback based on the amount paid on shipping costs only. You still can use your rewards for shipments, but one star is equal to $10.
Important Requirements and Limits
You have to earn a minimum of five stars in order to be eligible to redeem your rewards.
Your stars, just like how the airlines miles would also expire. Your stars will expire after six months if they have not been redeemed or reached redemption threshold.
We have a limit on how much you can earn in a year. We have capped it at $250 per customer per year.
How Stars Work
Earned rewards cannot be used towards purchase cost and cannot be redeemed as cash. This can only be used towards your shipment cost.
Your stars cannot roll over to the following year since they do expire after six months, but you can earn your stars continuously and continue shipping and redeeming them on demand.
Manual Redemption Required
Something else that is going to change starting September 1 2026 is that stars will not automatically be applied to your next shipping invoice. You would have to actively or manually redeem your stars.
We've had situations where customer who have had rewards automatically applied previously demanded stars to be applied to their next invoice yet they had depleted.
Like the psychology says, if you make it normal for an action, it becomes an entitlement. This customer have been getting the rewards automatically applied every time they have a shipment, even if it's a few dollars.
One time when they got an invoice and had no rewards, they demanded it and actually caused a drama saying that we are denying him his right.
There is nothing wrong with that... I would say the mistake there is ours for not structuring the reward system in a way every customer would understand how it works, how to redeem, and when to redeem. And also when their stars expire.

Remember, you can apply your rewards in both shipping and ocean shipping. It's up to you. Only that you cannot use your rewards towards purchase costs.
