Real numbers, not a guess. These are computed the same way our quote calculator prices your shipment: chargeable weight is the higher of actual weight or volumetric weight (L × W × H in inches ÷ 306 for air, giving kilograms), and you pay that weight times the rate, or the $100.00 minimum charge, whichever is higher. There is no minimum weight.
A gaming laptop
Gaming laptop + charger, boxed
17 x 13 x 3 inch box, ~2.8 kg actual weight → chargeable weight 2.8 kg at $17.99/kg (below the $100.00 minimum charge, so you pay $100.00)
$100.00 by air
Wireless earbuds
Earbuds case + charging cable, small pouch
4 x 3 x 2 inch box, ~0.15 kg actual weight → chargeable weight 0.1 kg at $17.99/kg (below the $100.00 minimum charge, so you pay $100.00)
$100.00 by air
A box of beauty & personal care products
18" x 14" x 14" box — skincare, cosmetics, hair products
2.0 cubic feet at $30.00/cuft (minimum charge $150.00)
$150.00 by ocean
Notice the wireless earbuds costs the same as a gaming laptop: both weigh too little to reach the $100.00 minimum charge, so both simply pay the minimum. There is no minimum weight, so adding more to the same shipment costs nothing extra until the weight charge passes $100.00. If you're shipping several small items (a couple of gadgets, some accessories, a few gifts), consolidating them into one box almost always costs less than sending them separately, because each separate shipment pays its own $100.00 minimum.

Get Started with Air ShippingIn the realm of air freight, the chargeable weight of your shipment is a crucial factor in determining your total shipping costs.
The chargeable weight is not always simply the actual weight of the goods.
In fact, it takes into account both the actual weight and the volumetric weight of the shipment, whichever is greater.
To calculate the volumetric weight, you need to measure the dimensions of your package (length, width, height), multiply these together to get the cubic volume, and then divide this number by a standard volumetric factor of 306 for air cargo.
If your volumetric weight is higher than the actual weight, the former will be used as the chargeable weight.
It's important to note that not all goods can be shipped via air cargo due to safety regulations.
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, flammable materials, corrosive substances, explosives, radioactive materials, lithium batteries, and compressed gases.
Always refer to our prohibited goods list if your cargo includes potentially dangerous goods before shipment.
Our services are not limited to just air cargo.
We understand that some goods are better suited for ocean shipping. That's why we offer collection services from your home in New Jersey every third Friday of the month, shipping to Kenya at a flat rate of $30 per cubic foot.
We come to you, collect your shipment, and ship it for you to Kenya.
Schedule Ocean PickupFor ocean shipping, the chargeable weight is calculated differently. Rather than considering actual weight, we base our charges on the total volumetric size of the package.
The formula is straightforward: multiply the length, width, and height of your package in inches, divide the result by 1728, and then multiply it by $30.
This will give you your total shipping cost.
As ocean freight travels at a slower pace compared to air freight, it generally takes longer.
However, we ensure your cargo is handled with the utmost priority and efficiency. Upon collection from your house or delivery to our warehouse, expect your shipment to be delivered to Kenya within a typical time frame of about 75-90 days.
Ocean shipping runs on a monthly schedule, not weekly.
Ocean shipments follow monthly cutoffs, and planning early helps you avoid missing a container. If you are doing pickup, you should schedule it early enough to meet the cutoff.
Ocean shipping takes longer than air shipping, but it saves money on large shipments. Delivery typically takes about 75 to 90 days from the day the container departs.
