Wallet Overview

Your Kentex Cargo wallet makes checkout faster and helps you manage funds and credits in one place. Use it to pay orders at checkout, and our team can apply it to your invoices for air shipments, ocean shipments, and any Kenya customs duties we collect on your behalf.

Three Balance Types

Cash Balance

Money you add by M-Pesa or card, or that our team records for you
Pays orders at checkout, and our team can apply it to invoices
Does not expire
Can be paid out to you on request

Shipping Credits (Earned)

From qualified referrals, added automatically
Used after promo credit and before cash
Cannot be withdrawn as cash
Do not expire

Promo Credits (Temporary)

Matched funding bonuses
Expire 30 days after they are granted (the default promotion window)
Any amount not used by then is removed
Cannot be withdrawn as cash

How Credits Are Applied When You Pay From Your Wallet

The Pay with Wallet window shows the order total and your cash balance before you confirm, and every payment appears in your transaction history.

How to Fund Your Wallet

Payment Methods

M-Pesa (Recommended)

Open your Wallet and enter the amount in the Add Funds box
Tap "M-Pesa (STK)". You are charged in KES at the live exchange rate
Enter your M-Pesa PIN on the prompt sent to your phone
Your balance updates once M-Pesa confirms the payment

Card / Apple Pay

Enter the amount in the Add Funds box
Tap "Card / Apple Pay" and choose to pay in KES or USD
Check the card processing fee shown, then pay on Paystack's secure checkout
Your balance updates once Paystack confirms the payment

Limits

M-Pesa: up to KES 150,000 per payment
Match promotion: your wallet shows the minimum top-up that qualifies

Processing Times

M-Pesa: as soon as M-Pesa confirms the payment
Card / Apple Pay: as soon as Paystack confirms the payment
Cash, Paybill or bank transfer to our team: when staff record it in your wallet

New User Promo Match

When the first-funding match promotion is running, eligible new customers receive a matching promo shipping credit on their first top-up.

Top up at least the minimum shown in your wallet
Receive the match as promo credit
Use it within 30 days (the default promotion window)
Any part not used by then expires

Understanding Your Transaction History

Every wallet change is recorded in your ledger, and your Wallet page lists your 50 most recent transactions.

Credits (Money In)

Wallet top-up (M-Pesa, card, or recorded by our team)
Referral bonus earned
Match bonus (promo credit) received
Credit for a cancelled order

Debits (Money Out)

Order payment (credits are used before cash)
Invoice payment applied by our team
Promo credit that expired
Payout of your cash balance

Transaction Details

Each entry shows:

Date and time
Transaction type
Amount
Money in shown in green with a plus sign, money out in red
Status
Reference, such as the M-Pesa receipt code or order number

Downloading Statements

Go to My Documents in your account
Choose a period: This Month, Last Month, This Quarter or Year to Date
Click "Download Statement"
The PDF statement of account downloads straight away, with your invoices, payments and wallet cash balance

Payment Methods at Checkout

Option 1: Wallet Payment

Fastest checkout method

Top up your wallet before you check out
Tap "Pay with Wallet" to pay the whole order
Or apply part of your balance and pay the rest by M-Pesa or card
No payment provider step when your wallet covers the order

Option 2: M-Pesa Direct

Pay on-the-spot

Select M-Pesa at checkout
A payment prompt (STK push) is sent to your phone
Enter your M-Pesa PIN to confirm
Your order is marked paid once M-Pesa confirms

Option 3: Card Payment

Cards and Apple Pay

Debit and credit cards, and Apple Pay, through Paystack
Kenyan and international cards accepted
The card processing fee is shown before you pay
Your order is marked paid once Paystack confirms

Payment Security

Payments are made over a secure (HTTPS) connection
Card details are entered on Paystack's secure checkout
Kentex Cargo does not store your card details
M-Pesa payments are approved with your own M-Pesa PIN
Online payments update your balance or invoice only after the payment provider confirms them

Earning Shipping Credits

Referral Credits

Share your referral link
Your friend has a first order within 30 days of signing up, and pays it
You both get $5 shipping credit
No limit on referrals
Referral credit does not expire

Promotional Matches

New customers: a first-funding match when the promotion is running
Your wallet shows the offer when you are eligible
Kentex Rewards: earned on the shipping you pay for, and on shipping your referred friends pay for
Rewards are kept on My Rewards and applied to invoices, separately from your wallet

Promo Credit Rules

Expiry Policy

Promo credit expires 30 days after it is granted (the default promotion window)
Any amount not used by then is removed
Your wallet shows how many days are left
Reminders 7 days and 1 day before it expires

Any refund is decided by our team, case by case
If a paid order or quote is cancelled, contact our team about the payment
Prohibited items follow the prohibited items case process
Anything our team agrees is recorded on your invoice or in your wallet history

Where it shows

Every credit and payment appears in your wallet transaction history
Invoice corrections appear on the invoice itself
Wallet cash can be used on your next order
Contact our team about any payment you have a question about

Withdrawing Funds

Eligibility

Only cash balance can be withdrawn
Shipping/promo credits cannot be withdrawn
You can withdraw up to your full cash balance
Paid out by a method such as M-Pesa, cash, bank transfer or Zelle

Withdrawal Process

There is no withdraw button in the app: contact our support team
Tell us the amount (up to your cash balance)
Confirm how you want to be paid
Our team sends the money and records the payout with its reference
The payout appears in your wallet history and your cash balance goes down by that amount

Payout Records

Each payout is recorded with its method and reference
A payout can never be more than your cash balance
Shipping and promo credits stay in your wallet
