Add and manage authorized package recipients in Kenya

What Are Receivers?

Receivers are people authorized to receive your packages in Kenya. They can be you, family members, friends, or business associates.

How It Works

  1. Add Receiver: Enter their details (name, phone, email)
  2. Verify Phone: We send verification code to confirm
  3. Select at Checkout: Choose receiver for each order
  4. Delivery Coordination: Receiver gets SMS when package ready
  5. Collection: Receiver shows ID to collect package

Multiple Receivers

You can add unlimited receivers:

  • Family members in different cities
  • Office address with colleague as receiver
  • Friend who lives near pickup location
  • Business partners for B2B deliveries

Adding Receivers

Required Information

Name (Required)

  • First and last name
  • Must match their national ID
  • Used for verification at collection
  • Cannot contain special characters

Phone Number (Required)

  • Valid Kenyan mobile number
  • Format: 07XX XXX XXX or +2547XX XXX XXX
  • Must be reachable for delivery
  • Verification required

Step-by-Step Process

  1. 1

    Navigate to Receivers

    Click "Receivers" in dashboard menu, or during checkout click "Add New Receiver"

  2. 2

    Fill in Details

    Enter full name (as on ID), add mobile phone number, optionally add email

  3. 3

    Verify Phone Number

    Verification code sent via SMS, enter 6-digit code (valid for 10 minutes)

  4. 4

    Receiver Added

    Appears in your receivers list, available for selection at checkout

Why We Verify

Delivery Success

  • Ensures phone number is active
  • Confirms receiver can be reached
  • Reduces failed delivery attempts

Security

  • Verifies receiver is real person
  • Prevents fraudulent collections
  • Protects your packages

  • SMS when package arrives
  • Delivery coordination
  • Proof of delivery notifications

Verification Process

  1. Add receiver with phone number
  2. Click "Verify" next to phone number
  3. SMS code sent immediately (usually within 30 seconds)
  4. Enter 6-digit code
  5. Phone marked as verified

Didn't Receive Code?

  • Check phone number entered correctly
  • Ensure phone has signal
  • Make sure SMS inbox not full
  • Click "Resend Code" (wait 60 seconds between attempts)
  • Contact support if still failing

Unverified Receivers

Unverified receivers can't be used for orders until verified. Checkout won't allow selection, and a "Verify" badge is shown in receivers list.


Managing Your Receivers

Viewing Receivers

  • All receivers listed on Receivers page
  • Shows verification status
  • Recent orders per receiver
  • Quick actions available

Editing Receivers

What Can Be Edited

  • Name (requires re-verification)
  • Phone number (triggers new verification)
  • Email address (no verification needed)
  • Notes (internal, not shown to receiver)

How to Edit

  1. 1. Go to Receivers page
  2. 2. Click "Edit" next to receiver
  3. 3. Update information
  4. 4. Save changes
  5. 5. Verify phone if changed

Deleting Receivers

When to Delete

  • No longer need to ship to them
  • Wrong person added
  • Duplicate entry
  • Phone number inactive

Can't Delete If

  • Active order using this receiver
  • Order in transit
  • Package ready for pickup

Setting Default Receiver

  • Auto-selected at checkout
  • Saves time for regular shipments
  • Easy to change per order
  • Set via star icon on Receivers page

Receiver Notes

Add private notes to each receiver to help you remember context:

  • "Office address, only weekdays 9-5"
  • "Sister, lives near Junction Mall"
  • "Main warehouse, ask for John"

Delivery Coordination

Automatic Notifications

Receiver gets SMS when:

  • Package clears customs
  • Arrives at pickup location
  • Ready for collection
  • Delivery scheduled (for home delivery)

Pickup Requirements

What Receiver Needs

  • National ID: Must match name in system
  • Order Number: Provided in SMS
  • Phone: May be verified at collection point

Collection Process

  1. 1. Receiver goes to pickup location
  2. 2. Provides order number and ID
  3. 3. Staff verifies identity
  4. 4. Package handed over
  5. 5. Receiver signs for package
  6. 6. You get delivery confirmation

Home Delivery Coordination

Before Delivery

  • Receiver gets delivery day notification
  • Should be available to receive
  • Provide clear address directions
  • Phone on and reachable

During Delivery

  • Courier calls receiver when nearby
  • Receiver confirms readiness
  • Delivery within agreed timeframe
  • Sign on delivery
