Everything you need to know about the Free, Gold and Platinum plans

Overview
Every Kentex Cargo account is on one of three membership plans: Free, Gold or Platinum. New accounts start on Free, which uses our standard rates. Gold and Platinum are annual paid plans with their own rates, and Platinum includes free home delivery in Kenya while it is active.
What Gold and Platinum Include
- Lower per-kg air shipping rates
- Reduced ocean freight rates per cubic foot
- A lower fee on assisted Amazon purchases, when we shop for you from Amazon and US stores (the self-service Amazon tool's purchase fee is the same on every plan)
- Free home delivery in Kenya with Platinum
- Plan rates applied to your invoices automatically while the membership is active
- A Membership page showing your plan, expiry date and membership transactions

Note on Shipping Rates
Each plan's per-kg and per-cubic-foot rates come from its pricing rules, which our team sets and can change. Your invoice always shows the rate that was applied, and the Membership page shows the current comparison.

Here is how plans work on your account today. Membership upgrades are not available.
Every account starts on Free
Creating a Kentex Cargo account is free, using your phone number or email, and new accounts are on the Free plan, which uses our standard rates.
Go to Dashboard > Membership
If your account has a Gold or Platinum membership, the Membership page in your dashboard shows your plan and its expiry date.
Plan rates apply automatically
While a Gold or Platinum membership is active, its rates are applied to your invoices automatically. There is nothing to claim.
Upgrades are not available
Membership upgrades are not available, online or through our team.
Invoices keep their rates
An invoice keeps the rates it was issued with; invoices are not recalculated later. See the wallet & payments guide for how to pay them.
Expiry
When a Gold or Platinum membership reaches its expiry date, the account moves to the Free plan automatically.

Members can see their plan on the Membership page. For anything else, sign in to contact our Kenya team.
Expiry and Renewal
Gold and Platinum memberships run until their expiry date.
Renewal
Memberships are not renewed automatically, and no renewal payment is taken.
Your Expiry Date
Your expiry date is shown on your Membership page, so you can always check when your plan ends.
After Expiry
When the expiry date passes, your account moves to the Free plan automatically and your default warehouse is set back to Texas.
Rates After Expiry
Shipments invoiced after the expiry date are charged the standard Free plan rates.
Invoices Issued Before Expiry
Invoices issued while your membership was active keep the member rates. They are not recalculated.
Referral Commissions
Kentex Cargo affiliates earn a commission when a customer they referred pays for a membership upgrade. Here is how those commissions work.
How Affiliate Commissions Work
50% Commission
The commission is 50% of the membership payment made by the referred customer.
30-Day Hold Period
Commissions become payable 30 days after the membership payment is confirmed.
Self-Referral Protection
You cannot earn a commission on your own membership upgrade. The system automatically prevents self-referral commissions.
Paid Upgrades Only
Only paid membership upgrades earn a commission. A membership granted at no charge earns none.

Can I cancel my membership?
A membership stays active until its expiry date. No renewal payment is taken automatically, and when it expires your account moves to the Free plan.
Can I downgrade from Platinum to Gold?
No. There is no downgrade option. Your membership stays as it is until its expiry date, and then your account moves to the Free plan.
Can I upgrade from Gold to Platinum mid-year?
No. Membership upgrades are not available.
Can I pay for membership via M-Pesa?
Membership upgrades are not available, so there is no membership payment to make. M-Pesa is available for paying your shipping invoices.
Will my rates change when my membership expires?
Invoices already issued keep the rates they were issued with. Shipments invoiced after the expiry date use the Free plan rates.
Can I upgrade via WhatsApp?
No. Membership upgrades are not available through WhatsApp, phone or any other channel.
Does Platinum include free home delivery in Kenya?
Yes. While a Platinum membership is active, last-mile delivery in Kenya is free on its invoices, for both air and ocean shipments.
Can my family use my membership?
Membership benefits belong to the account that holds the membership and apply to packages billed to that account.
