Are you looking to own an iPad with an even larger display? Apple has you covered with the remarkable 10.2-inch iPad designed for large screen aficionados like you.

From the hard to break Nokia 3310 device to the Mp3 featured Samsung SPH M100 tablet, to the invention of Emoji by a Japanese application developer named Shigetaka Kurita, we have seen more and more people embracing technological changes and improvements.

We have officially reached a stage where we cannot live without the sphere of influence of smartphones and tablets.

The devices have enabled us to connect with a vast number of people globally, make payments, and even enabled us to share information.

We have reached a point where people sleep outside a tablet store before a flagship device is released so that they can get a hold and embrace the elegance of the said smart device.

In this piece, we going to review the iPad 10.2 tablet. This is the first of a kind tab developed by an American technological giant company.

As you guessed, it is Apple Inc. The company has the accolade of being the first trillion-dollar company in the world. This is because of its high-quality devices. Apple has also been a game-changer in the media purchase and download industry.

The iPad 10.2 was released on 29th September 2019. It is a high speed, considerably efficient, and above-average quality device.

This tablet was created to cater to a group of users who not only want a larger display but also slim bezels on a not necessarily flagship device.

This iPad 10.2 has a slim display layer of 10.2 inches, weighs 483g and 493 g (depending on the model), and measure 7.5mm in thickness. The color schemes available are space gray, silver, and gold.

It has an NFC (Near Field Communication) module that only accepts and sends payments from Apple Pay.

The tablet has it an Assisted Global Positioning System that gets coordinates from mobile networks and has GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System) that communicates with satellites from outer space to determine the tablet's location.

The tablet is Bluetooth 4.2 and A2DP enabled that runs on Low Energy. Low energy as it suggests means it uses minimal power when sending or receiving data packets.

The A2DP feature means the audio data being transmitted on the iPad 10.2 can be streamed and played on another tablet.

It has 4 network technology bands of 2G (GSM), 3G (HSDPA), EVDO, CDMA, and 4G LTE. It has a maximum connection speed of 50 Mbps.

The utility features of the iPad 10.2 has included a front-mounted fingerprint sensor (for biometric fingerprint authentication ), a barometer (to measure atmospheric pressure), a gyroscope and accelerometer (used in detecting screen twist and turn so that it determines the tablet's screen orientation), a proximity sensor (used for determining nearby objects without bodily contact), a compass ( for telling the direction the tablet is facing), and Siri Virtual Assistant (used for following spoken voice commands to perform actions).

The iPad comes with a 2.0 proprietary reversible connector and a magnetic connector for the transfer of data that is only available for Apple devices.

The tablet also has a 3.5mm jack port for headphones and a loudspeaker.
There is no FM Radio option!

Memory, Battery, and Storage

The iPad 10.2 comes in two different storage capacities and hence they vary greatly in price.

These are the 32GB ROM 3GB RAM, and the 128GB 3GB RAM variants. The downside is that there is no external expandable memory card slot.

The storage hardware ROM's come with NVMe (non-volatile memory express) file transfer technology that enables a more efficient and faster transfer of data between online and offline storage devices such as Solid State Drives and servers.

The tablet comes with a Non-Removable Li-Po 8827 mAh battery that has a standby time of up to 240 hours while on both 2G and 3G networks.

This is an impressive feature Apple Inc. has pulled off. The talk-time lasts up to 14 hours while on a 3G network and has a music playtime of 50 hours with a battery endurance of 73 hours.

Camera

The iPad 10.2 comes with a main standard camera of 8 Mega Pixels that have the PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus) feature which is used to auto-correct an out of focus picture to a clearly defined one.

This tablet also comes with a Dual-LED dual-tone flash which is used for lighting the object’s environment while taking a picture.

The High Dynamic Range (HDR) present exemplary and smartly lit photos with more color in bright and dark areas.

The video frame rates it records are as follows: 1080p at 30fps, and 720 at 120fps.

The tablet's standard selfie camera of 1.2 Mega Pixel, has a face detection feature used for recognizing and allowing access into the tablet and is also HDR-enabled just like the main camera.

The selling point of this tablet is that it has a panorama camera capability and it can record videos of 720p at 120fps.

Summary

The pros of having the iPad 10.2 are that it has an Apple A10 Fusion chip which is currently the fastest chip to be used on a 10.2-inch tablet.

The speaker has a quality rating of 93dB. It has amazing video quality and a good quality Selfie Camera for a small tablet.

Another advantage is that it can record videos up to 1080p and you will still get the latest software updates from Apple.

You will also get an audio jack that you can connect your headphone on. The tablet has a Touch ID fingerprint sensor for authentication. This is why the tablet is still relevant in the market.

Some disadvantages are that there is no FM radio, there is no 3D touch feature on the screen, the NFC functionality is only used for Apple Pay, it doesn't have any resistance to water and dust and there is no wireless charging.

For some people, the large screen size is a turn-off. The 264 PPI density screen is suitable for the tablet but it is not suitable as compared to other tablet models.

There have been some drawbacks to these technological advancements such as the conversion of a huge amount of people into antisocial beings.

Continuous exposure to these devices leads to mental and psychological problems and is also a way to influence the culture in negative ways.

All in all, the use of mobile tablets has many positive aspects to it. The solution is to use the devices in moderation. Nothing in this world is perfect.
